Radio Frequency (RF)

What is a Radio Frequency skin tightening treatment?

Radio Frequency or RF, is a non-invasive and non surgical method for tightening the skin. It is also used in body contouring treatments to reduce fat deposits.

How does Radio Frequency (RF) tighten the skin?

By gently heating the deeper layers of the skin, RF waves produce an immediate tightening effect, whilst at the same time boosting collagen and elastin production for long term results. The heating process of the skin is monitored throughout your treatment to ensure both safety and comfort

Does Radio Frequency skin tightening hurt?

Radio Frequency or RF skin tightening is a comfortable treatment. Your skin is gently heated using a wand that passes over your skin to heat the lower layers of your skin. It can feel quite warm, but should never feel uncomfortably hot. Constant monitoring of your skin temperature throughout your treatment means that your skin therapist can keep the temperature within safe levels.

When will I see results after Radio Frequency treatment?

RF Radio Frequency produces an immediate tightening of the existing collagen fibres in your skin. This is why some patients will notice results or effects from their first treatment, although a recommended course of treatments will produce more long-term and longer lasting results

What do I need to avoid after RF Radio Frequency?

You are advised to avoid alcohol, vigorous exercise, and extremes of heat or cold for 48 hours post treatment. These activities have been found to increase and prolong redness and swelling. Products such as exfoliants, chemical peels, hair removal creams/bleaches and products that can cause skin irritation should be avoided for 3-5 days after your treatment. In-clinic treatments such as Laser, microdermabrasion, waxing or other direct heat treatments should also be avoided for the same period.

How will I look after a Radio Frequency RF facial?

You will have reddening of the skin in the treated areas, due to the heating effects produced by the treatment. Your skin may feel warm to the touch. In a very few cases there may be some slight swelling. These effects will wear off pretty quickly, and you will be able to return to your normal activities straight away.

How long does a Radio Frequency facial take?

Around 45 minutes.
